School Overview:
    Shanghai Experimental School (SES) is attached to Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. SES is a research-oriented institution under the supervision of Shanghai Normal University. SES has enjoyed good social reputation both at home and abroad. SES was established in 1987. The former Chinese president Mr. Jiang Zemin attended the foundation ceremony and honored the school with his autograph.
    SES was among the very first schools that was certified by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission to enroll international students. The school conducted large amount of research and experimental work on foreign students’ adaptation to teaching content, teaching forms and culture.

Aims of SESID:
    To build and provide a stage for the junior middle students who are expected to become well-educated international talents with good learning habits, innovative thinking skills, well-balanced development of personality and potential ability.

Diversity of Curriculum:
    To meet the requirements of the foreign students’ educational need, SESID provides one class with about 25 students and superior individual education.
    The curriculum system consists of the required subjects, optional subjects and activity subjects. It combines strengths of eastern and western curricular and is aligned with international standards to prepare students for future success. By setting high and achievable expectations, students learn to explore, experiments, and solve problems with confidence and pride. Educational activities facilitate inquiry-based learning, cooperative groupings, self-directions, and developmentally appropriate practice.
